This will affect AI in save games (hopefully for the better) Lots of changes to campaign AI settings, see this thread for details:

Units in woods have slightly better cover from projectiles Arrow towers have slightly more arrows per volley and bigger range Levy and regular barbarian units have much more chaotic spacing They do not use phalanx but run very fast and have good charge. Ekdromoi Hoplites function as "Chase" hoplites, which was their historical role. Added base armour of 1, increased armour value of 2 to 3 - for balance sake it is easier to manage damage if there is any armour present at all. But I look at it from a high stand point, here with only 1600 men I had reduced this previously 2300+ army down to roughly 350 men and if his general had died, I may have won the battle.Īt the end of the battle where you are told what the outcome was it read "Valiant Defeat".- Scordisci units slightly buffed in some places, assigned proper hoplite/pike behaviour to phalanx using units Needless to say, my battered troops without their general routed and I lost the battle. Unfortunetly my general parished without too much of a fight, while his remained 1 of only left 7 in that unit. Knowing that my only hope was to take out his general to reduce his troops moral, I sent my larger in number general unit straight at his general. My infantry arrived to help in the battle but they are too few in numbers to make a big enough difference. I fire my canons in desperations as he approaches and I'm able to rout one of his units and inflict damage on the others but that's all.
EMPIRE TOTAL WAR CIVIL WAR MOD 2.5 FULL
I wheel around to my left (his right) which has 4 full units of line infantry and his general. All of my infantry are at 1/4 quarter strength. However, the toll of going toe to toe with a full army has reduced me to 6 line units, 2 grenadiers, 1 unit of horse, my 2 cannons and my general. With the help of my cannons and 2 units of Grenadiers his centre and left folded and I ripped through his routing units with my fire. In placing my men I create one large centre trap to bog down the enemy while my flanks were sparsely defended. With only 1600 men in my partially depleted army, but knowing that I have a second army to close the deal if I can take out most of his army, I stand my ground.

In that same turn, the Prussian general garrisioned in the city (Sorry forgot the name Kon.something) sallys forth and attacks my stack with his 2300+ army (mostly line units). I defeat them quickly, taking a roughly 400 men loss. Replensih my armies and move my army in Saxony up to East Prussia while the army in West Prussia has taken out 1 of the 2.5 stacks Prussia has remaining. I re-form my armies and declare war on Poland and Saxony, with one army taking Saxony and the other West Prussia. After taking Berlin I marched an army from Amsterdam to take Westphalia and my army in Berlin to take Hanover. I started out sailing around Denmark and landing a force to take Berlin. As per usually Prussia declares war on Austria early in the game and I decide to defend my ally. I searched for a similar topic, didn't find one so here goes.Ī little history behind the purpose of my topic. Only wish I had more time in my day to play it. I got ETW the day it came out and am loving it. Hi everyone, long time reader, first time poster.
